A Bit About Me
Hi! I am Mackenzie. I value authenticity and I understand that no person is the same. Because of this, I am committed to understanding who you are, how you learn, and what drives you towards success so that I can tailor the sessions to your needs. When you work with me, I promise to provide a warm, welcoming, and authentic environment that makes you feel comfortable bringing your true self.

I take an integrative approach therapy. I have a keen interest in modalities that will provide you with tangible skills for your toolbelt such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Along with providing you with skills to move forward, my goal is to ensure that you feel safe, accepted, and comfortable to share your story with me. I truly believe that building a strong foundation to the therapeutic process is essential for success. I promise to always bring my authentic self to the session and hope that you will do the same!
Services
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a one-on-one conversation between you and your therapist, where you get a safe, private space to talk about what’s going on in your life. It’s a chance to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment, whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, or just feeling stuck. The goal is to help you understand yourself better, work through challenges, and develop tools to handle life more effectively. It’s really about having someone in your corner to support your personal growth and emotional well-being.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy is a space where you and your partner can talk openly with your therapist about the things that are working—and not working—in your relationship. Whether you’re dealing with communication issues, trust struggles, or just feeling disconnected, therapy helps you both understand each other better and learn how to work through challenges as a team. It’s not about taking sides, but about creating a space where both voices are heard and respected. The goal is to strengthen your connection, build healthier patterns, and find new ways to support each other.
Family Therapy
Family therapy is a space where family members come together with their therapist to talk through challenges and improve how they relate to and support one another. Whether there’s tension, miscommunication, or a big change shaking things up, therapy helps everyone feel heard and understood. It’s not about pointing fingers—it’s about working as a team to understand each person’s perspective and build stronger, healthier relationships. The goal is to create more harmony at home, learn better ways to handle conflict, and grow closer as a family.
My Approach
1
Solutions Focused Therapy
Solution-focused therapy is effective for clients seeking short-term, goal-oriented counselling. SFT encourages clients to envision their desired future and identify the strengths, resources, and past successes that can help them achieve their goals. I would work collaboratively with the client to develop specific, actionable steps toward their preferred outcome, often asking questions like, “What will be different when this problem is solved?”.
2
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT is an approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviours that contribute to emotional distress. CBT operates on the principle that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected, and by altering distorted or unhelpful thinking, individuals can change their emotional responses and behaviours. In therapy, clients learn to recognize and challenge cognitive distortions, develop healthier thinking patterns, and practice new behaviours through various techniques.
3
Integrative Approach
I combine techniques and theories from various psychological schools of thought to create a tailored treatment plan that addresses the client’s specific needs. Instead of sticking to a single modality, I will draw on different methods while valuing flexibility and the holistic understanding of the client, aiming to address emotional, cognitive, behavioural, and relational aspects of their experience.
